Dating

I am so blessed to be married to a man who knows the importance of dating. What, you thought dating was only for those who are not yet married? Not true, we will be married 15 years this November and dating is a must for us... For those of you who are planning to marry, those who are newly weds and those who are in the process of having children...don't forget to date your mate. Even if all you can afford to do is grab a drink and dessert or walk at a local park, it is one of the best thing you can do for your relationship.

We do not usually take really big dates. Usually we will see a movie, go for a walk, or go out to eat and visit for a couple hours. Yesterday, however, my husband surprised me and took the day off work to spend time with me. We ended up spending the afternoon and early evening at
St Andrews State Park in Panama City, Florida. The day was perfect. With temperatures around 95 degrees, we were pleased to find out that the sand was not so hot that we could not go barefoot in it. The waves were fast and furious and small fishes swam around our feet and lower legs. Not long after we arrived we realized that jelly fish were washing up on the beach (as they often will this time of year) so I decided I was done with the water. People were being stung and that just was not on my list of things to do. We walked up and down the beaches for the rest of the day and it was absolutely wonderful.

Our day ended with dinner at
Captain Anderson's.
What a treat! I was surprised to find that it was quite a bit larger than we had expected and very tastefully decorated. The whole seafaring atmosphere made the dinner all the more enjoyable. Our table was made of recycled timbers from an old ship and all around us were parts and pieces of different ships. Oh, and the carpet was this gorgeous blue, red and green plaid. Awesome! My husband ordered the Surf and Turf and I had Shrimp Kabobs. Yum Yum

It is always nice to spend a day with the one you love. I hope you all have a chance to do some of that yourselves and that you are having a wonderful summer.

What a sweet post and what an awesome date. I am right with ya on the idea that dating shouldn't end. We have been married 26 years and are still dating. Some dates are sweet and dear, others not so much. I hate to admit that last Fridays date was to Lowes to get a doorknob and then we stopped to get a Gelatta. The wonder of a good marraige though is that whether it's a "jellyfish" date or a "doorknob" date it doesn't really matter! I wish you many, many more years of dating!!!
