The Birthday Girl Made Herself a Cake

…with a little help.  The night before the party, Christianna enlisted the help of her oldest sister, Brooke, for the baking of 2 dozen cupcakes. They had great fun in the kitchen baking and talking and licking the bowls!

 

On the day of the party Brooke was put to work with last minute cleaning while Kayla and I decorated and Declin made himself as scarce as possible.

            Now who do you think got to help decorate all of those cupcakes?

                       

Mammaw of course. Each little cupcake was frosted a gorgeous aqua blue then neatly arranged into the shape of an owl.

Then came the good part! Piping…

                         

                                          …just like The Cake Boss…

                                  

                            …because that’s who Christianna loves!

Instructions for this Sweet Owl Cake can be found at CuteEverything. We loved the tutorial but opted out of using coconut for the body of the owls. Instead we piped tinted buttercream  icing onto the body using Wilton tip #233.
