Of Play-Doh and Fondant

Have you ever walked by a shelf at Wal-mart or Target and purchased something just because it was on sale? I confess that I too have made impulse purchases. This week's impulse buy was a Pay-Doh pack of 24 colors for $9.

Actually, it was not impulse buying. My 8 year old has "hinted" for weeks that the Play-Doh at home was dried out and we were down to one can. We can't have that, now can we? So $9 was more of an investment in the kiddos creative future...and what a bright future it is.

At first there were "decorative" sugar cookies..


...then there was a birthday cake for a five year old...



...Then...C says,"I've got an idea...let's make cakes using rolled fondant!"

WHAT?!? Heh?!?!



...A cake to celebrate our new house(complete with gutter because we need details)



...a swimming pool cake for our competative swim team...



...a brides cake...



...a wedding cake...

"Hey, Mom, if we practice enough, we can be the next Cake Boss!!!"
