Finally, Some Sunshine

We finished up our last day of school and I thought, "Yes!Now I can get some pictures and make new listings in my Etsy shop." WRONG!!! It has been wet and/or raining everyday this week - until today.

I listed a blanket that I began while on vacation in March. It turned out beautifully but I am nervous about listing it. This will be my first time to sell any of my crochet items. I have always given them as gifts. We will see how this turns out.

I spent 3 hours chasing around my girls with a camera and it was fun, but at the end of our "photo session" we were all tired out and a little crazy!

Yes, they still love me. Yes, we will all sleep well tonight!

School's Out Summer's here!!!

And man are we busy...

As a homeschooling family, our summers are probably quite a bit different than those of most families. Yet, our summers are very much the same. I will be keeping my children's minds occupied throughout the summer but at a much slower pace than during the actual school year. Music lessons are a must and we try to keep our minds fresh by reading books and science journals and history magazines throughout the summer and, if I am really sly about it, I am usually able to slip in a math review here and there(sometimes even without weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth).

But this post isn't about school, it is about School's Out and Summer's Here!!! For those of you who are wondering , yes, we do take a much needed break from the routine. We are very fortunate to live only an hour away from Florida's white sandy beaches. We love the crashing waves, and the sea gulls, the salt air and sand in our pants! By this time next month my four kiddos will have golden brown tans and rosy red cheeks! I love summer time.

Another great thing about summer time is that with our cut back schedule I am able to focus on my own hobbies instead of school lessons and "Mommies Taxi Service".
My to do list for the summer? Grab a cold drink - this is going to be long!

Oh, never mind - I started listing it and it was so long I was getting depressed. Suffice it to say, I will be busy this summer doing things I love. Sewing, playing the piano, swimming, loving on my kiddos, and I will even slip in a couple overnight trips with my husband.

Ah, summertime!
