Two Craft Fair Aprons Finished

These are the aprons I made for craft fairs this year. Monster Bug Blankets was kind enough to let me make hers. It is the brown with flowers. Mine is the one with vintage school scenes. This project was a lot of fun. I may have to make another for myself, then I would have one for Saturdays and one for Sunday. I like the thought of that.

Aren't they gorgeous? These are my sisters boys. They live way too far away and I miss them so much. The little one likes his sack pack from Auntie Sonja. 8-)
Hm, this is a familiar scene for us. Cows, horses, county fairs and peanuts are regular everyday things where we are but...
...this is something our kids and I have never done before. My kids have never made snow angels, although they have taken the same concept and made "clay angels" in the local baseball fields and cotton fields. In fact our youngest two do not even know how to
make a snow man. They think that snow feels like shaved ice. Sad, I know! This is it! This is why I enjoy children so much. They find wonder and amazement in all that is around them. I love the bright eyes that shine when a child learns something new, I love the pout when it hurts and the "Mommy, kiss it - make it better." I love the dirty knees and Tonka trucks, legos and Winnie the Pooh. I love the smell of peanut butter and jelly in their hair and
I love to peak in on them when they are fast asleep and imagine what they must be dreaming about.

OK, you two, if Mommy reads this to you, Auntie Sonja misses you and I love you guys so much.

Nothing Like A Little Perspective

Our oldest, soon to be 14, is very fond of counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds to big events. This morning I thought I would try this myself, well, almost. I think counting days will do just fine. March 29 is the date of our first craft fair so we have 54 days. 54 DAYS!!! YIKES!!! What was I thinking?

Actually things are shaping up pretty well, as you can see from the picture. We have finished 27 pouches and have cut out and prepared 20 more. That is pretty good. The prepwork for the nametags in the previous post is finished but the actual piecing takes longer than I had planned. We have 94 to go and those are

to be finished in 33 days. Now I am feeling a little pressure. What else is there to finish? Craft fair aprons for myself and the Blanket Lady, 20 wallets, 40 sack packs, and hopefully 10 laptop sleeves. Crazy, Hah?

I like chaos, that is why I have four children and we homeschool and keep bees and volunteer and now a business... Sounds like fun. We will check progress again on the weekend.
